Confined Space
A Confined Space is a work area that's large enough for workers to enter but has limited ways to get in or out and isn't designed for people to work in continuously. Examples include storage tanks, manholes, tunnels, and silos. Because these spaces can be dangerous due to possible lack of oxygen, toxic gases, or other hazards, special training and safety procedures are required by law. When you see this term on a resume, it usually means the person has specific training and certification to work in or supervise work in these challenging environments.
